About
Neighborhood Place of Kona (NPK) has served as a puʻuhonua (place of safety) for West Hawaiʻi families since 1997, offering a supportive and culturally sensitive environment to strengthen the well-being of children and parents. Utilizing a compassionate "talk story" approach, NPK partners with families to build resilience, improve parenting skills, and prevent child abuse through highly individualized success plans. Their comprehensive services range from routine home visits and developmental assessments to practical life-skills training, such as budgeting and resume building. By providing active case management and "warm hand-offs" to community partners, NPK ensures that families with children from birth to age eighteen have the tools and resources necessary to thrive.
